Celebrating Achievements 2024-2025

At Castledon, we celebrate all pathways equally, ensuring every student is equipped with the skills and qualifications for their next steps in life. Our tailored approach fosters growth, independence and success, with every achievement reflecting the school’s commitment to meeting individual needs through personalised learning.

The school’s holistic approach enables access to a variety of academic and vocational qualifications, allowing students to excel in areas that align with their strengths. Vocational achievements continue to expand, with success in areas such as NCFE Level 1 Art and Design, Gateway Level 1/2 Graphic Design, Asdan Land Management, WJEC Level 1 Sport, WJEC Level 1 Car Maintenance, WJEC Level 1 Humanities, NCFE Level 1 Photography, Asdan in Animal Care, Asdan in Drama and Music. GCSE results demonstrate the school’s ability to support academic rigour alongside practical skill development. Recent highlights include 2 students achieved GCSE Art and Design, with grades 8 and 5.  1 student achieved Maths grade 3 and English grade 4 GCSE.

Science continues to be a strength, with the Gateway Level 1 Award in Applied Science showing a significant increase, rising from 47.36% (2022/23) to 83.33% (2023/24) and continuing to 66.6% in (2024/25). In post-16 all students left achieving English and Maths Functional Skills qualifications. These achievements reflect the school’s focus on preparing students for independence and future employment.

Despite variability in cohort sizes and needs, the school maintains high standards. Year-to-year fluctuations in data reflect the individualised pathways offered, but every student is given the opportunity to achieve their personal best. A broad range of qualifications, from Entry Level to Level 2, ensures progression and builds confidence, competence and independence.

Ultimately, Castledon’s curriculum is designed to provide a well-rounded education, across both academic qualifications and vocational studies, including life skills such as cooking, sport and bike maintenance. These achievements prepare students for diverse interests and aspirations, equipping them for the next stage of their journey with confidence and pride.
